Terms and Conditions for Bachatero

1. Description of Service

Bachatero is a community-driven, crowd-sourced platform that allows users to find, share, and track dance socials and venues globally. No account is required to browse the map, but an account is required to add events, venues, or reviews, or to save favorites.

2. Google Maps

Bachatero uses Google Maps features and content, including place search, venue details, and venue photos. Your use of these features is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

3. User Accounts and Security

• Account Creation: To contribute data, you must register an account using an email/password or a supported third-party OAuth provider (e.g., Google). You agree to provide accurate information.
• Minimum Age: You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• Account Responsibility: You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that harms the community.
• Deleting Your Account: You can stop using Bachatero and permanently delete your account at any time from your account page. See our Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what is kept.

4. User-Generated Content and Rules of Conduct

By submitting, posting, or adding events, venues, or reviews to Bachatero ("User Content"), you agree to the following rules:

• Accuracy: You will make a good-faith effort to ensure the dance events, times, and locations you submit are accurate and up to date.
• Prohibited Content: You will not post content that is illegal, misleading, malicious, abusive, or explicitly promotional for non-dance products (spam).
• Ownership and Rights: By posting User Content, you grant Bachatero a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, modify, and distribute that information on our platform to help other dancers.
• Moderation: Bachatero reserves the right to review, edit, or delete any user-submitted content at our sole discretion if we believe it is inaccurate, outdated, or violates these Terms.

5. Limitation of Liability

• As-Is Service: Bachatero is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee the absolute accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any event or venue listed on the map.
• Event Changes: Dance events, schedules, and styles can change rapidly without our knowledge. Bachatero is not responsible for canceled events, closed venues, or incorrect venue and/or event information.
• Third-Party Incidents: Bachatero is a directory map and does not host or organize the listed dance socials. We are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, financial loss, or negative experiences that occur while traveling to, attending, or participating in any venue or event discovered through our platform. Users attend socials at their own risk.
• Your Legal Rights: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, and nothing in these Terms affects the rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.

6. Intellectual Property

The Bachatero name, branding, logos, website design, and proprietary code are the intellectual property of Bachatero. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or reproduce our platform's structure without prior written permission.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Bachatero will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Ohio. If you live in a country whose laws give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or under your local consumer protection laws, this section does not take that right away.

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Bachatero after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
